This explains what Talent Toolbox collects, why, and the choices you have. Talent Toolbox is the practice of Alison Yarwood, based in Calgary, Alberta. If anything here is unclear, email me and I will explain it plainly.
The assessments
The assessments run entirely in your browser. Your answers are not sent anywhere, nothing is stored against you, and no account is needed to see a result. Nothing you enter leaves your device.
When you contact me
Three forms on this site send information to me by email so I can respond, and only for that reason:
- Booking a consultation: your name and email, an optional phone number, and anything you choose to add about your organization and what you need.
- Sharing a testimonial: your name, role, organization and the words you write. A testimonial is only published after I have reviewed it, and with your consent.
- Suggesting a topic: your email and your idea.
I use this to reply to you and to keep my own records. I do not sell it, and I do not share it for advertising.
The monthly newsletter
You can choose to receive new pieces by email, roughly once a month. This is opt-in: you are only added if you tick the box yourself, which is what Canadian anti-spam law requires. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and leaving takes one click.
Analytics
To understand which pages are useful, I use PostHog on its European Union region, so analytics data is processed and stored in the EU. It records general usage such as the pages visited, the actions taken and broad device and browser information. It is configured to be privacy-conscious, and I do not use it to identify individual visitors or track you across other sites.
Cookies
This site uses only what it needs to run and to measure that general usage. There is no advertising and no third-party tracking.
Where the site runs, and who else is involved
The site is hosted by Vercel, which processes standard request data such as your IP address to serve pages and keep the site secure. To run the practice I rely on a small number of services: Vercel for hosting, PostHog for the analytics above, and an email provider to deliver form submissions and the newsletter. Each receives only what it needs for that job.
How long it is kept
Enquiry and testimonial emails are kept while I need them to work with you or for my records, and removed when they are no longer needed. Newsletter details are kept until you unsubscribe.
Your choices
You can ask what I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it, and you can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time. To do any of these, send a note through the contact form.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here.
